September 2009

can you feel that?

You know, that crispness in the air? Cold air, a bit of rain, some mud? That is cyclocross season and it is just getting started. Some big races have already gone down: Star Crossed, Cross Vegas and the first stop of the USGP in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. This weekend, we get down to racing here in Portland at Alpenrose Dairy. I'm stoked, yes sir. I'm not much of a racer, never have been. I'll jump in a race or two, but I go to SuperFan and I do it well. Speaking of SuperFans, the shot below is taken by an OG SuperFan Djonny Mac, it's of Cale Wenthur doing neo-PRO Lyle Hanson a skull bong favor on day two of the USGP. Of course, for the second day in a row, Lyle drew a fine from the UCI.But honestly, the folks on the other side of the tape seem to be enjoying it, don't they?

stock updates

Hey everybody. As of right now we've got pretty much everything in stock, with the exception of the coated Wrencho. Poco and Magic Flutes are looking good, as are both types of Soda Pop fenders and for the first time, The Payload is ready to ship to you!

picking up pieces

Yeah, this thumb sized Lucha Libre pinned me at a tequila tasting during Interbike...somehow even though it was just my thumb getting pinned, today it feels like it was my whole body...progress was made, new products were debuted, and old pals were seen. Interbike 2009 was one for the books. We'll have a couple of announcements coming to the blog in the next few days. Good news, of course. Stay tuned!

it is friday

You know what to do.

introducing the payload rack

This is the Payload rear rack. It is pretty. It is strong. It is steel. You will be able to get one soon, very soon. We expect these to arrive around the 28 of September, right when we get back from Interbike. Enjoy the weekend!

like jumanji

I was feeling real motivated a few days back so I got out the door at the crack of 6am to get in a cycloross ride in Forest Park. Traffic on Interstate Ave was at a crawl, a strange thing so early in the morning. After buzzing by the line of traffic in the bike lane I saw the source of congestion- a line of pachyderms caravaning from the railroad yard on up to where Barnum and Bailey were setting up their Greatest Show on Earth. It was a bit dark to get good shots with my mobile phone, but nonetheless here ya go:

hopworksfiets!

I really didn't need another reason to convince me to attend the HUB "biketobeerfest" event this Saturday. Afterall, it features two of my favorite things: bikes and beer. It is also pretty near to my house. But then the folks at HUB and Metrofiets teamed with some of their talented friends to come up with the Hopworksfiet! Wow. I'm stoked to see it in person this weekend! Maybe I'll see you there as well?

I spied the below 3Rensho frame on HK Fixed this morning and my heart skipped a beat! Such great lines, I just had to share it!

fixed

Fixed, but not as in "gear." It's for the Humane Society.
