Teisuke -our main man and distributor in Japan- visited PDW HQ last evening for some beers and bike talk. He's headed out to the handmade bike show in Indianapolis to see some of the coolest bikes ever built.  Wish we were going.

Anywho, we rode down to a sweet little bar called the Muddy Rudder in Sellwood, ate some tasty artisan pizzas and talked of our mutual admiration for Point Break.

After finishing off not a little Knuckedragger beer we rode north along the Willamette to enjoy the night skyline.  All in all a real fine evening, except when I flew over my handlebars and ate it on the cement esplanade.  That I could've done without.

i'd hire me

We got to break out the forklift yesterday, and it was good. That is Mean Gene our facilities guy on the right there. Forklift driving is serious business folks, and the Gener was just there making sure I didn't flip that rascal over or crush Olson. Just look at that concentration! Holy cow. I'm good at that thing that I'm doing there! Yes indeed, I have more game than Parker Brothers. But seriously, my weak attempt at needless trash talk aside, we have product in the "house" as they say. Grips and CO2 are shipping to distributors all over this great land as you read this. If you are hot for something, ask your local shop for it. To everyone who has supported us so far, a big thanks!

they're here

Our products are in the house, so to speak. Just unloaded them off the truck, and put them on the shelves. Some of those boxes are going right back out the door bound for various distributors across the US of A! Alright, I gotta start picking some orders.

dapper dans on grip shift

Our friend ZR modified a dapper dan to work with his Sturmey Archer shifter.  Here's what he says:

"I cut the grips down to use with the grip shift, and it works great.
The edges are not ragged as they appear in the photo and they are
totally secure with just one clamp."

products are in stock... and out

Our first shipment of products will arrive Wednesday morning. We're going to break a bottle of champagne on them so they might be a little damp...

Some products are already out of stock so you'll have to ask your local bike shop for them!

nahbs in the midwest

The North American Handbuilt Bicycle Show is a yearly gathering of the tribe of custom framebuilders from across the continent. This year the show is going down in Indianapolis. Every year viewing the photos of the bikes that are on display occupies my free time for about a month afterwards. This year, I've been stalking the web trying to get a sneak peek of what some folks are going to have on display. Here are three of my favorites:

#1.) This sweet cargo bike that ZR Cycles built for a photographer in Florida. Zack will have some Dapper Dan grips on one of his other bikes.

#2.) (a and b) A rear disc wheel featuring the liner artwork from Guns N' Roses Appetite For Destruction album, and a bicycle paint job inspired by everyone's favorite, Fruit Stripe gum, from Eric over at Peacock Groove.

#3.) Last but certainly not least, the detail of this MKS pedal on one of this years ANT offerings. It is all in the details. If you happen to be in the Midwest, drop what you are doing and go check this show out. Do it for me.

serious?

"Twitter is over capacity. Too many tweets! Please wait a moment and try again." c'mon guy, how can I express myself now?

big air?

We've been working on new pump names, we were thinking about "Big Air" as it conjures images of big hit bikes, hucks off cliffs, heli drops, etc. Then we find the pic below, and it looks like our old pal Nick Hayden already beat us to "big air"...well done old boy.

new beer tax

The word on the street is the Oregon House Revenue Committee is looking to add an additional $50 per barrel tax on beer. What this means to you is paying $6 per pint versus $4.50. What can you do? Check out the Oregon Brewer's Guild for more info.

scapoose'd

I landed on my face yesterday as we were finishing up a nice singletrack session up at Scapoose. Helmet has a nice dent. Nothing a couple of Olympias and some Bocce at Leisure couldn't clear up.
