good neighbor series, vol. 4: Corsa Concepts
This installment of the PDW Good Neighbor Series continues with another one of our N. Williams Ave neighbors, Greg Hudson from Corsa Concepts. This great local wheel manufacturer is located just up the street from us and shares walls with a bunch of good dudes at Metropolis Cycle Repair, Signal Cycles, Ahearne Cycles, and MAP Bicycles. They're in pretty good company if you ask me.
This interview brings many contentious issues to the forefront, like Jean Claude Van Damme, the roundness of pizza, and the sweetest thing anyone has ever put in their mouth. We put Greg into the PDW hot seat for a minute. Enjoy!

KM: Name, AKA?

GH: Greg Hudson. Matt [Cardinal of Signal Cycles] calls me G-Hud, but I don’t like it.
KM: I might just start calling you “Hud, the Man with the Barbed Wire Soul”
Why CRABON?
GH: It’s hard and fast.
KM: As a wheelbuilder, which is rounder? ‘Pi’ or Pizza?
GH: Can Pi not be round? Seriously, I don’t know. You guys sound like math nerds. I guess I’ll say Pizza.
KM: Explain the role of hubs in a wheel for us beginners?
GH: They’re used to lace to the rim with spokes to create the wheel. They’ve been around in one form or another for a long, long time. Ours are of the latest technology and really fast.
KM: Which is more ‘aero’? Deep dish or New York Style?
GH: How do you guys know I like pizza so much? Deep carbon is more aero. It’s faster, stiffer, lighter and makes anything you eat taste better.
KM: How long has Corsa Concepts been around?
GH: Corsa will be 2 years old this month [September 2011].
KM: Bourbon or Rye?
GH: PBR.
KM: Peralta vs. Alva?
GH: Peralta.
KM: Favorite Cassette: SH 12-25 or Van Halen’s 1984?
GH: Vanilla Ice is the only cassette I’ve ever owned. SRAM 11-26 otherwise.
KM: Oh snap!
If you had to pick an MVP, whom would you call the Most Valuable Primate?
GH: A chimp.
KM: How many pull ups would you do?
GH: I will do none.
KM: How sweet are your wheels?
GH: What’s the sweetest thing you’ve ever put in your
mouth? Multiply that by infinity. Our wheels are that sweet.
KM: Good answer.
No comment on the sweetest thing I’ve ever put in my mouth.
Chuck Norris or JVD?
GH: I’ve seen Bloodsport a hundred times, but otherwise I’m not a fan of JVD.
KM: *Gasp*
GH: Chuck it is.
KM: Thanks, Greg!
