good neighbor series, vol. 3: Metropolis Cycle Repair

As the next installment of the PDW Good Neighbor Series, we would like to introduce Nathan Roll, owner of one of our favorite shops in Portland, Metropolis Cycle Repair. Nathan and the boys are located right up the street from the PDW Mothership at 2249 N. Williams Ave. 

Name; Alias: Nathan Roll; Nate Dogg, Nater, the Mayor

KM: First things first, why are you guys afraid to play us in Basketball?

NR: I don't want to hurt you guys with my mad skills. 

KM: How long have you been in your space? 

NR: 3 years this coming November

KM: How would you describe your shop, or rather, better yet, who is your ideal customer?

NR: Anyone that is awesome. Plus, you know, commuters, single speeders, cyclo-cross riders, roadies alike.

KM: Ned Overend or John Tomac?

NR: Adam Craig

KM: What is your favorite bike of all time?

NR: '85 Peugeot Fastback--my first real road bike. 

KM: Balki Bartokomous or Latka Gravas?

NR: Please. Latka

KM: Wow, that was a pretty definitive answer. How come? 

NR: Big Taxi fan. Plus, Balki is just a neutered corporate version of Latka.

KM: Yeah, I was always a fan of the Reverend Jim "Iggy" Ignatowski

NR: Truly, Christopher Lloyd's finest role.

What is your favorite wrestling move?

NR: The Camel Clutch. 

KM: Haha! That's a good one.

So, where are you originally from?

NR: Cottage Grove, Oregon. Holla!

KM: A local boy, huh? We're all midwesterners here at the PDW Mothership.

NR: I like to think of you as carpet baggers.

KM: Godzilla or Mothra?

NR: Does Mothra have atomic breath? No. Godzilla, hands down.

KM: Who is the most consistent Employee of the Month at Metropolis?

NR: That information is classified.

KM: Big dogs or small dogs?

NR: Medium size or anything that doesn't bark too much. 

KM: Does that go for employees as well at Metropolis? 

NR: Of course, but Brad does bark sometimes.

KM: I've never seen that. 

Who is your favorite movie primate?

NR: Easy. Clyde the orangutan.

KM: What is your favorite type of riding?

NR: Anything under the trees.

If you were in the know, Brad is actually the Employee of the Month at Metropolis Cycles. Matt was the month before. In order for Nathan to get that tidal, he will need to up his game in Bike sales. He is however in the lead this month, and is looking to be the EOTM in September. But there is a ton of August left for me to leave him in the dust. Shred Gnar.
