moto man

Late last week I received an email from an old buddy of mine, Patrick Kelly, telling me he was going to be in Oregon and wanted to stop by PDW to say hello. We played some phone tag for a few days, lobbed a couple of emails back and forth, and I was able to figure out that he was going to be attending the national Moto Guzzi Motorcycle Rally in John Day, OR. He was riding to the rally from Spring Green, WI with his old man and afterwards they were going to head to the coast and then north up to Kodiak Island, AK for his sisters wedding. Well, bad weather and other various things you run into out there on the open road slowed them down a bit but they were able to make it to both the rally and to the coast. Patrick finally showed up at my house at about 10 pm Wednesday, weary from the road. I put a cold Lompoc in his hand, a lawn chair under him and listened to some good road tales.

Yesterday morning we woke up made some pancakes, looked over his bike (1984 Moto Guzzi 1000) and headed in to PDW so I could show him some of the new products we're working on.

Here are some pictures I snapped, mostly of the bike:

He has hit a bug or two out there.

Me imagining 30 days on the road.

His cue sheet for the ride back down to the hot springs at Breitenbush.

The man we call "Off Road" with his road camera set up.

The above two shots are just a sample of the images he can get from the helmet mounted camera. It takes video too, pretty sweet.

Catch you down the trail, dude.
